I have to say THANK YOU to all my wonderful sponsors and others who made the first contest a great success. I am looking forward to holding another one soon. While I have been talking about the contest and not posting a lot, there is a great reason for that, contests take a lot of work but they do help you make a lot of money. I met several new people and had a lot of fun. I have learned a couple things about contests though.
MAKE THEM EASY!
While I had a TON of prizes for this contest, and got new rss subscribers, and links and such I did not make it easy to join. I required too much of people and I think that had to do with the turnout being lower than what I was hoping for it to be. Next time, the contest is going to be dead simple, like just registering for my RSS feed or something similar.
PROMOTE, and PROMOTE
Promoting requires a lot of effort, I actually had to email around twenty different contest blogs, and ended up being included in most of them. Thank goodness because it took several hours to do, but it does pay off.
Prize Management
Dealing prizes out to everyone took a lot of administration and was much harder than I thought. I finally did manage to finish it yesterday though.
I am exhausted from all this contest stuff. I’ll be sure to give you guys a more interesting read tomorrow.

Yeah, that was an awesome contest. I’d say it was a lot easier to enter than some of the other blog contests I have seen.

Some, not all.
