PayPerPost the controversial paid to blog service has recently changed its terms of service. They used to require a blog to have 90 days and 20 posts before you could apply and be accepted for their service. There were other conditions as well. However, as of 2/13/08 the company has changed its terms of service. The other conditions still apply but now a blog must only have 30 days and 10 posts in the past 30 days to be accepted into the network. Some are saying that this will allow more spam into the system as well as bloggers who want to exploit the system.

Does it really matter though? PayPerPost has being doing a fraction of what it was doing a year ago as far as moving the number of opportunities. They have sent several emails to users with advertiser accounts asking for them to start new opportunities. They have also offered a 10% bonus if an advertiser opens an account with them. Is PayPerPost getting desperate? Who is really being screwed here? Who knows, but it will be very interesting to see.

    desperate? no

But they are definitely trying to quick patch the system. New bloggers to take care of the old ones with no pr

I wonder what % of their bloggers and active bloggers are at pr0 now

They never release stats. Stupid idiots…nah, just idiots.

I’m concerned because I haven’t been able to find decent opportunities with them for some time. In January, I received over 60 bucks in payments from them, and now, I’m barely able to find things I’m remotely interested in blogging about with them. What I do find are things that want you to make a video blog post (a commercial for x company) or things like ‘alternative plastic surgery’. I can’t make money doing that…I mean, I can, but I won’t do it. The opportunities have to be relevant or I won’t take them. Or at least, I have to stretch them to be relevant.

It’s getting frustrating waiting on these companies to get more advertisers who don’t sound like spammers. It’s all sounding like spam to me.

Its just sad. I wish they were much more relevant! It is all starting to get more spammy by the second these days…

I think Google has won this battle. Unless PPP finds some accepted way besides PR to rank blogs then they are a dying service. This new move to allow 30 day old blogs is definitely a move in the wrong direction for them and simply opens them up to more spam and gaming of their system.

that’s what i’m saying, they suck now.

  8. Ryan Says:

    K.

Google wins everything they do. It sucks. Real Rank is supposed to fix these problems but they need to dump page rank.

You’ve said that for at least six months Jorge.

  9. Day Humor Games Says:

PPP doesn’t have the interesting and relevant opportunities for me anymore. I guess I will start writing for SponsoredReviews from now on, since they have bigger marketplace where I can bid on whateve I want, but I hate to wait for approvals there…
