PayPerPost is going PR free! I was in the community meeting last night with Ted Murphy, Founder of PayPerPost. The question was posed by another member and PayPerPost will become the first blog network to rely solely on its own metrics. Social Spark, PayPerPost’s newest creation will NEVER use Page Rank while Page Rank will be removed from PayPerPost after Social Spark is released.
This is GREAT news. Bloggers who have great blogs have been bashed by Google, including me! PayPerPost is now going to let us blog about what we love about and make money doing it! Truly, the slogan behind PayPerPost.
Should Google take a hike for using page rank? YES!

Did they happen to mention when they planned this. I know when you said Social Spark was released, but any particular Date? I would love to see $600+ in my payout each month again rather than this POS $40

I don’t think Google every intended for PR to be used the way the advertisers have used it. So I think its not that Google should take a hike but that advertisers need to once and for all stop using such a random Google metric to determine whether they should place their ads there or not.
Anyhow, this is GREAT NEWS! I was expecting this to happen within the next few months but it has come a lot earlier. More and more people are finally moving away from this stupid PR thing which really measures NOTHING.
This is my PR drop to “0″ story:

Weak.
I’ve only blogged about what I loved with them on one occasion.
A nintendo post. The other times, I had to just roll with it.
This should be interesting to note though.

Haha, awesome everyone. I actually did not get an ETA on this, as Social Spark was not given an ETA either. Ted was supposed to have a meeting today to learn the time schedule for it.
That would be interesting, I guess we will never really know what Google intended Page Rank to be.

this is good news. but hopefully advertiser don’t bail on ppp. cause most of the advertisers still care about pr. if ppp drops pr completely, they may lose advertisers as well.

Actually, the bulk of advertisers are still going on PPP. Ted told us that 14,000 advertisers are in the system and are creating more slots than ever.

Haha, I should try but that would require me to know how to code and I don’t really want to learn all that sorta stuff.
