PayPerPost seals the fate drops Page Rank of its bloggers
In a critical move today, IZEA, the parent company of PayPerPost.com ran the Page Rank engine for their highly controversial PayPerPost paid blogging service. PayPerPost has tried to postpone this action, but it was inevitable to happen. The companies new RealRank strategy, which is supposed to replace the Page Rank and Alexa rankings has been deployed but the public site has yet to be unveiled.
PayPerPost bloggers previously had their page ranks cut by Google, it is unknown how Google determined which blogs were associated with PayPerPost, but many PayPerPost bloggers were affected. Many PayPerPost bloggers are very agitated with the Page Rank drop. PayPerPost is currently trying to market the RealRank solution and says that the adoption by advertisers should be short.
First off, I wrote this article from all of my knowledge. I am not usually so negative about PayPerPost, but this affects a large percentage of their user population, including me. What good is it for me to use their service if I will be punished by it? RealRank is great, and I have two blogs in the top 250. However, if their actions keep hurting bloggers, I may be forced to stop using their service.
There is a great marketing scope to attract the potential customers if the marketers run their campaign via web marketing. Before running campaign of online advertising, there is a need of getting internet marketing information in order to increase the gigantic returns by employing the advanced strategies of pay per click. The advertising agencies are more inclined to advertise via such websites whose page ranking is very high in the google, search engine to win the attention of maximum number of targeted visitors.

Pagerank is useless. I have sites with no pagerank whatsoever that still rank in the top 10 search results on Google.

Look up John Chow on Google and you can’t find his site for his own name. He does quite well and has a pr of 4. Yet he man=kes money hand over fist, has tens of thousands visiting his site ( sometimes daily) yet can’t be found in the mighty google search engine. Pagerank supposedly means quality and links to the site, if that were the case John’s site a month the hundreds of others that Google doesn’t even list, would at the very least be there for his own name right?
Let’s all stop pretending that pagerank is relevant and move on.

Thank you Brian, Page Rank is just pure google opinion, I rank very well without page rank on my other blogs, this site has Page Rank 4 still though.
Michael, dead on. Except John doesn’t care. Page Rank doesn’t mean $$$. It does if you want easy money, but you have to work at things and if you work hard enough you will see the check cashing at the bank!

I still don’t know what the use of this realrank!
PPP advertisers still using PR and Alexa as main requirements.

The RR won’t be any good at all if they keep the PR And Alexia options available.
I went from a nice $600+ per month payout from PPP and now I’m luck to see $100.
IMO PR is pointless and has no meaning at all. A lot of bloggers, including myself, have witnessed that first hand with the PR bitch slapping from Google.
If PR can be manipulated by Google, then it doesn’t tell the truth.
They took my Pr 5 and stuck me with a big fat O, ziltch, nada, zippo!
I like you blog BTW, I’m going to add you to my blogroll and RSS feed reader.

Same here MacBros, I was making $650, now I am lucky to pull in half that.
Thanks for saying that you like my blog. Hope I can help more.
PR is “correct” in Google’s eyes. It is just Google’s opinion, much like someone believing the War in Iraq is wrong or right.
Alexa is flawed as it only captures a small part of traffic.
Bottom Line: PayPerPost has to delete Alexa and PR before advertisers will even consider RealRank.
