I hate when something goes down that is so much fun to play with. I was playing the adictive new game of Spymaster this evening, however, the game itself does not work when twitter is down. Currently twitter has been down several hours, and my twitter account has even been suspended. Hopefully they are able to remove this stupid worm and actually get everything back up and running. I really could use the distractions right now, come on twitter get yourself back into shape!
Many people are trying to make their online money into real world money. You might be wondering what I mean by that. Due to the rotten economy, thousands of people have lost their jobs. Luckily, some had small streams of revenue coming in via online work, like blogs.
One of the best ways that you can take your blog to the next level is by being real. People love to read posts that they can relate to. If you just copy what everyone else has been putting on their blog, you are not going to be taken seriously, in fact you may even lose some readers!
Give something away. You do not need to be Oprah and give away a car on your blog, however, you should add some incentive to bring in even more traffic. Not only is incentive marketing one of the oldest tricks in the book, but it is one of the wisest. By giving your subscribers a special eBook or report, you may be able to increase your overall readership immensly, all for just a few minutes of your time!
Change up your theme. People hate looking at the same boring background all the time. Give them something appealing that will make their eyes go “Wow”! Once you give them something to be amazed by, the liklihood of them sticking around to check out your blog is much higher. First impressions are everything, especially in the world of blogging!
Google launched yet another service this year. Their profiles are amazing, and I even created my own. Here is the upside, you may even be eligible to get some free business cards. Sure, they aren’t the snazziest business cards, but they include the Google logo and a link to your profile page.
I actually like Google’s new profile pages. They allow you to include information from every source imaginable. You can link to your personal blog, twitter, whatever you want to be quite honest. Google is continuing to provide the information canister for nearly everything about our lives, and it is quite nice to be honest. Who wants to have to post their information across dozens of other social networks when you can have it all centered on one. Create your google profile today and link me to it at the bottom of this post!
I am just sort of curious. Due to my current age, I receive tons of advertisements from different colleges asking me to visit or attend their school because of such and such an advantage. These documents do cost money to print up and send to people. I wonder what the conversion rate is for new applicants, and also I wonder how much colleges have to pay in postage to people who will never even come to their school.
Kids are easily impressioned by social media, just look at where MySpace and Facebook have a majority of their members from. Some colleges have moved into the digital age, but not all colleges have! Twitter may be one of of the best media outlets for colleges. With the ability to send text messages to interested students and no funding necessary, the advantages of twitter are just amazing for colleges!
Apple and the bank are going to have even more of a relationship. One of the founders of twitter is actually making a physical device that can scan credit cards and use your iPhone to do it. While these devices do exist, they are very expensive. However, with the large numbers of iPhones on the market and the number of people who could use this device, the possibilities are endless. Think about this though, do you really want iPhone users scanning your credit cards with their devices. How are you sure that they are not scanning your number and saving it for later use? It seems rather security flawed at the moment, however, when the device nicknamed the “acron” launches it will be interesting to see how it is accepted by users.
That is right! Kmart, our favorite troubled company now has its own social network. It is just one of the multitude of social media sites that have cropped up on the internet recently. However, this one is extremely unique.
The name seems cheesy. Who would even go to a site called MySears.com? I honestly would not! While the site itself is nice and easy to use, it is too bright and clean. When viewing in a dark environment, such as late at night, the site will brun your eyeballs. I am not too big on shopping, as I do not like Sears or Kmart in the first place. Although, I decided for the fun of it to see what sort of interesting things I could find. My Sears is very close to MySpace in the many fields and surveys to fill out. However, it still offers the starkness of spacebook with no ability to customize the colors or add any auto playing music to your profile.
Overall, the new MySears is an alright site. However, social media is not the best idea for shopping. I think once Sears has a large user base activly reviewing products that they sell that they have a great product on their hands. In the mean time, it is sparse and not interesting. Join today and you can get specials sent to your email by Sears, if not, wait for them to refine it and then join up!
Recently twitter moved from automaticlly shortening urls with tinyurl to shortening them with bit.ly. There are probably several reasons behind this. One of the largest factors is that twitter users enjoy their stats! With tinyurl, you would always have to use a secondary program to count clicks. Not only did this take up time, but it really was annoying. Also, tinyurl was not as short as shortening urls come. Bit.ly helped people shorten their url even further, allowing for larger amount of customized text in the tweet. Twitter and Google have recently announced the possibility of including twitter links in the google search results. This would be amazing as Twitter is used by so many tech savvy people. The data possibilities with these shorter links is just an amazing thought! Bit.ly is a fast growing url shortening service, in fact now the top over tinyurl! The stats and other advantages to Bit.ly will make sure that it stays on top for at least a few more weeks, if not forever!
I have found that there are several blogs out there doing a really poor job at utilizing their marketing copy. They don’t enegage their readers to make the best decisions, and some don’t even engage the read at all. You need to step into the reader’s shoes, engage them, and drive the point home.
While I have not had any formal training in marketing whatsoever, I have learned that the best sales people are those who innovate. You must be willing to put the best foot forward at all times. Come down to the level of the person who reads what your are writing. What do you think they are looking for? What do THEY want from you?
Once you have determined what the reader really wants you need to engage them to make sure that they get it. If all you do is identify what they want, your not going full circle. Make it known to them that they need your product in order to avoid foreclosure, or you really must have a free Nintendo Wii right this moment! Make it sound urgent, and that it should be done right away or you will lose the interest of your readers.
Driving the point home is the final and possibly most difficult step of this all. You need to make sure you have a point that secures what you are trying to sell and rehashes everything you have said in condensed form. Tell your readers what it is, why it is urgent, and why they should chose you over the other’s! Don’t put yourself in a bad situation! All you have to do is play your cards right and you will be the next marketer to hit the Internet Marketing Big Time. I wish you good luck!
